Faculty of Law Organized Summer School Successfully

Faculty of Law (FH) University of Jember successfully organized an international event “summer school” for the second time. The event was held on Tuesday night (24/3) and was centered at Panorama Hotel Hall Room, Jember, followed by 13 participating countries from Asia and Europe.
Dean of Faculty of Law Dr. Widodo Ekatjahjana, SH, M.Hum. said that this year’s summer school program was quite successful compared to the first one. The organization of the first summer school was attended by only three countries. “The summer school event this time is really successful followed by 13 countries, that is, Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Japan, Korea, China, and Germany,” he said.
According to him, the purpose of holding the summer school program was to expand international cooperation between the Faculty of Law education and the other institutions from other countries. “This event is proposed for international cooperation in student or lecturer exchange in addition to cooperating with educational institutions in or outside of Jember,” he added.
Furthermore, Dr. Widodo Ekatjahjana stated that in summer school this time, participants were also served with culture and improvement programs. This event was in purpose of introducing Indonesian cultures and developing them. “In the event, the committee members are wearing traditional costumes, performed music and Balinese dance and the venue is decorated and nuanced with Indonesian culture,” he concluded.
Edy Mulyono SH, M.Hum. as the committee chairman explained that the event was held in 3 cities, that is, Surabaya, Probolinggo and last in Jember. Before arriving at the campus of the University of Jember, all participants were invited to enjoy the natural beauty of tourist resorts in East Java. The visited site was Bromo tourist resort in Probolinggo. “Bromo was chosen as the location since it is one of the best national parks in Indonesia with various cultures that exist there,” he said.
